A test tube brush, also known as a spout brush, is a brush that is used to clean test tubes and narrow mouth scientific glassware such as graded cylinders, burettes, etc. It is made of nylon, synthetic, or animal fur bristles of varying sizes that are lined upon a rather durable metallic wire handle with a looped end for hanging. FDA-approved brushes are resistant to acids and other corrosive compounds such as aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, ketones, ethyl acetate esters, and trichloroethylene.
