Monocot leaves are made up of an upper and lower epidermis, Vascular Bundles, and Mesophyll, which is ground tissue. The arrangement of the vascular bundle differs greatly from that of dicot plants. It generally lacks a midrib and has a more uniform blade thickness. Of a cross section, the major veins in monocot leaves are cut at a 90-degree angle because they are parallel to one another. The prepared silde will help to understand the arrangement of tissues in a monocot leaf.
