Volvox is a chlorophyte green algae genus in the Volvocaceae family. It generates large spherical colonies of cells. They may be found in a range of freshwater settings. Each mature Volvox colony is made up of cells from two distinct cell types. There are a lot of flagellate somatic cells and a lot of germ cells that don't have a soma.
