A conical flask, also known as an Erlenmeyer flask or a titration flask, is a form of laboratory flask with a flat bottom, a conical body, and a cylindrical neck. It was invented by the German scientist Emil Erlenmeyer and is named after him. Erlenmeyer flasks feature broad bottoms with tapering sides that slope upward to a small vertical neck. They might be graduated. It is distinguished from the beaker by its tapering body and thin neck. Depending on the use, they can be made of glass or plastic and come in a variety of sizes.
